Ekstasis

I was lost in a place filled of knowledge, unsure of which way to go. It was an unfamiliar place kept together by the binding of fine black string and extravagant bead work. This place was unlike any I’d ever seen before in my entire life. The part of this piece that would usually be the center was cut at a vertical angle allowing it to be opened in two directions, both left and right. While this was the case for this piece usually it can only be opened to one side instead of two. By, allowing this there was much room for one’s mind to run off in imagination. This seems to have been created on purpose by the producer in order to make the viewer interested in looking deeper into what was actually behind this piece of art.

The inside was left a mystery to me as well as anyone else who was observing. However, even without being able to see the inside of this piece, the colorful outside was extremely intriguing to the eye. Due to this, the viewer was drawn in and left with creating a sense of wonder for the piece. This allowed one’s imagination to run off into its own world of creativity.

The outside of this piece was covered in silky fabrics flowing with eye catching designs. The first of these fabrics was a creamy neutral color in which a light pattern of flowers was clearly visible to see. While the other fabric was a dark mysterious blue filled with rectangular lines which created a path for the eye to follow. These two pieces of fabric were laid over one another allowing the viewers eye to wonder off from the fabric toward two beautiful beads that laid on top beaming with radiant color.
