For my final project I decided to use Photoshop. I chose this because up until taking Creativity in the Visual World I had never worked with Photoshop before. I found it be quit challenging but at the same time extremely interesting. I was unsure of what picture to actually Photoshop originally. However, I decided that I would really like to do something to the Eiffel tower because I had traveled to Europe and seen it in person many years ago. I thought that it would be interesting to play around with it and see what kind of creative ideas I could come up with.
At first I decided to pull the features of the picture out. I made the Eiffel tower stand out more. From there I thought of taking the picture and making it black and white. I felt that this gave the photograph a soft and gentle feel. However, I realized that this did not take much use of Photoshop. I also knew that I was not satisfied with ending with a black and white photo.
Next I came to the conclusion that maybe instead of black and white I could actually change the colors. I played around with what colors made the picture eye catching. In the end I decided on blue and pink. It made the picture look more like a painting than an actual photograph.
Once I had decided on the colors it was time to play with the piece. I changed the picture from an actual photograph into paintbrush. This allowed the photo to look softer and have a better flow.
The next step to my piece was changing the photo to look like plastic wrap. I felt this gave the allusion that the Eiffel tower was glistening. By adding this affect it draws the viewer’s eye in to the Eiffel tower, which should be the main focus of this piece.
Finally I decided that my piece should take place in the night. In order to show this I added pink and blue stars which would match the entire piece and flow with what I had already done. Once I added this detail I decided to use the plastic wrap affect again.

Analysis of Comic Strip
My comic takes place in a rest room with the sun shining brightly through the open window. Unfortunately my monster is extremely short. He does not have the advantage of having feet and hands to stand up right like a human. Instead, he has 10 feet which he walks on much like a cat. Due to my monsters lack of height he realizes that he will be unable to use the sink. In order to fix this issue he decides to get a stool in which he can push into the bathroom and climb in order to use the sink.

Comic Strip
In the first comic strip, Garfield is watching Jon, his owner, wash his car. It then goes on to show Jon saying that he is done washing his car and shortly after it begins to rain. I found this to be humorous because I can imagine taking time to wash my own car and then as soon as I had finished it starting to rain. In the second comic strip, Garfield is acting as though he’s reading something of importance. However, Jon then comes up behind him and asks if it a shopping list. This lets the audience know what truly is important to Garfield.

CORNELL BASEBALL COLLAGE (description/interpretation of artwork)
The artwork in which is being observing is titled Baseball Collage by Joseph Cornell. As I observed this art piece many elements stuck out in my mind. First, the background image is what may catch one’s eye. Although it is subtle and mysterious there is a pop of color which draws the audience’s eyes into the piece. However, what truly caught my eye were the different sized circles overlaying the backdrop. These five circular objects made me look deeper into the piece.
After taking more time to observe this artwork I could not help to feel as though I was floating in a bubble. This feeling came to me after carefully looking at the different sized circles. Four of these five circular objects appeared to be designed into baseballs. In each of the four baseballs, I quickly noticed that there was a baseball player located in the center. Each of these baseball players seemed to be in a different position. The impression that is given off from this is that the illustrator, Mr. Cornell, had a love for the game of baseball, this impression is also given from the title of the artwork, Baseball Collage.
However, in the biggest of the five circles there seems to be a design much different than the others. This design resembles a sun in which there are many circular figures surrounding. Due to these round figures, one feels as though their eyes must follow them in a circular motion around and around. It seems to be that the illustrator had intentions of having his viewers do so. This could be believed because there seems to be a reoccurrence of the circular patterns in this piece of art which draws in the audience. Overlaying, the fifth circle is a rectangular object, which appears to be a stamp of some sort. This may indicate that the illustrator of this artwork enjoyed writing and sending mail.
There is a lack of color in this imagine. However, this only seems to strengthen the piece more. Due to the lack of color the viewer pays more attention to the baseballs in this piece, rather, than being directed towards bright bold colors. By, the artist doing so it allows freedom for the audience to imagine what they interpret the colors to be.

Ekstasis
I was lost in a place filled of knowledge, unsure of which way to go. It was an unfamiliar place kept together by the binding of fine black string and extravagant bead work. This place was unlike any I’d ever seen before in my entire life. The part of this piece that would usually be the center was cut at a vertical angle allowing it to be opened in two directions, both left and right. While this was the case for this piece usually it can only be opened to one side instead of two. By, allowing this there was much room for one’s mind to run off in imagination. This seems to have been created on purpose by the producer in order to make the viewer interested in looking deeper into what was actually behind this piece of art.
The inside was left a mystery to me as well as anyone else who was observing. However, even without being able to see the inside of this piece, the colorful outside was extremely intriguing to the eye. Due to this, the viewer was drawn in and left with creating a sense of wonder for the piece. This allowed one’s imagination to run off into its own world of creativity.
The outside of this piece was covered in silky fabrics flowing with eye catching designs. The first of these fabrics was a creamy neutral color in which a light pattern of flowers was clearly visible to see. While the other fabric was a dark mysterious blue filled with rectangular lines which created a path for the eye to follow. These two pieces of fabric were laid over one another allowing the viewers eye to wonder off from the fabric toward two beautiful beads that laid on top beaming with radiant color.
